Casa Battagliola is a private 3-hectare estate in the heart of the Désert des Agriates, just 15 minutes from Saint-Florent in northern Corsica. The property is set up as a full-villa retreat venue, sleeping up to 18 guests across the main house, three independent studios and a garden tent.
Yoga teachers, wellness facilitators, coaches and creative leaders book Casa Battagliola for the same reason — it offers a complete, private setting for retreats: a 90 m² outdoor yoga deck under century-old holm oaks, a cedar sauna, a massage room, a heated 18-metre pool, and the silence of one of Europe's last uninhabited landscapes opening directly onto the property.
Whether you are planning a yoga retreat in Corsica for 12 people, a wellness week for a corporate group, a creative workshop or a small gathering of close friends, the villa adapts to your programme. You bring the practice, the participants and the vision — we provide the space, the services and the setting.

THE SETTING
A retreat villa in the heart of the Agriates
The estate occupies three hectares between the protected Désert des Agriates and the cultivated lands of the Nebbio. From every part of the property, the view opens onto granite hills, the maquis, the Gulf of Saint-Florent and the Cap Corse coastline beyond. No neighbouring property is visible.
This isolation is what defines the retreat experience here. The Agriates is one of the last uninhabited stretches of Mediterranean coastline — 15,000 hectares of granite chaos, scrubland and pristine beaches reached only by foot, boat or four-wheel-drive. No through roads, no towns within sight, no light pollution at night.
For retreat organisers, this matters: your group spends the week immersed in nature, with the silence and privacy that genuine practice requires. The closest neighbours are several kilometres away. Saint-Florent is fifteen minutes by car when you want it.

THE SPACES
Spaces dedicated to practice and group experiences
Casa Battagliola was set up with retreats in mind. Multiple dedicated spaces allow groups to move through the day at their own rhythm:
- Outdoor yoga deck — 90 m² wooden platform under the holm oaks, up to 14 mats, morning light from the east
- Sauna and massage room — cedar-lined Finnish sauna and treatment room in the original stone bergerie
- Heated 18-metre pool — heated and secured year-round, framed by olive groves
- Upper terrace 160 m² — covered dining and lounge area for group meals and evening gatherings
- Living room — long room with deep sofas and a stone fireplace, suitable for circle work and sharing sessions
- Garden and grounds — three hectares of holm oaks, cork oaks and olive trees, with quiet corners for solo practice

RETREAT FORMATS
What kind of retreats Casa Battagliola hosts
The villa has welcomed a wide range of group experiences:
- Yoga retreats — 6 to 14 participants, led by a guest teacher bringing their own programme (hatha, vinyasa, yin, restorative, ashtanga).
- Wellness and wellbeing weeks — combining yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound healing, nutrition and bodywork.
- Creative workshops and writing retreats — for authors, photographers and creative coaches who need sustained focus.
- Corporate retreats and team gatherings — executive groups, coaching cohorts and team reset weeks.
- Private group stays — families, close friends and milestone gatherings looking for full exclusivity.

ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION
The garden tent
For groups that need additional capacity, a fully equipped 25 m² bell tent is set up in the garden. The tent sleeps two adults or up to four young guests, with its own bathroom and WC under a wooden canopy nearby.
Often used by retreat teachers who want their own contemplative space, by photographers staying on after the group, or by participants who specifically want to sleep closer to the land.
Available on request for groups renting the full property — €800 per week in addition to the villa rate.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
The villa accommodates up to 18 guests across 9 bedrooms in the main house, 3 independent studios and a garden tent. Retreats typically work best with groups of 8 to 16 participants.
Yes — most retreats at Casa Battagliola are led by a guest teacher who brings their own programme and methodology. You are welcome to bring your own facilitators, assistants and support team.
Yoga mats, bolsters, blocks and meditation cushions can be provided on request, included or charged depending on the format of the retreat.
Yes — the 18-metre pool is heated and secured, making it usable from spring through autumn, including early morning and evening sessions.
A private chef can be arranged on request, with menus designed around the retreat — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, ayurvedic or specific dietary requirements. The fully equipped kitchen also allows participants to cook themselves if preferred.
April, May, June, September and October are ideal — warm but not crowded, with stable weather and full access to all outdoor spaces. July and August are also possible but coincide with peak local tourism.
Most retreats are booked 3 to 6 months in advance. High season (June to September) often books 9 to 12 months ahead. We recommend reaching out as soon as your dates are fixed.
WiFi is available throughout the house and most outdoor spaces. Mobile phone signal varies by operator — certain corners have no signal, which most retreat groups appreciate as part of the disconnection experience.
Weekly rates vary by season — from €8,000 in low season to €16,000 in high season for the full property. The garden tent is an additional €800 per week. Custom retreats including chef, transfers and services are quoted individually.
For retreat organisers planning groups of 10 or more, we welcome a site visit during shoulder season. Please contact us to arrange.
